About The Artist

You know how when we are young we can dream up these big beautiful futures for ourself? I was the queen of elaborate day dreams.

Funny how even the most well planned out road maps can look so different once you finally get on the road. Many things went according to plan, but even those had different outcomes then I thought they would. I will admit I get frustrated with the detours at times, who wouldn’t? But they say the journey shapes you into who you are supposed to be, and I believe that is true for my art as well.

My art is a reflection of a much looser, a bit messier life centered in a chaotic but beautiful world of being a mother to two young sons. I’m constantly trying to find balance between beauty and imperfection. Catching fleeting moments of creativity amongst the never ending activity of our busy days of play and growth.

Though this version of my road map is not the grand trip I once envisioned, I feel like the artwork I’m creating on this journey is the truest form of myself to date.

I would love to keep sharing glimpses of my life , art work and often messy studio with you. I don’t write all that often, maybe a couple times a month, but when I do I hope to fill your inbox with beauty, thoughtfulness and reflections of the most important things in my life and work at the moment (as well as a few funny things my kids are up to, for good measure) in hopes they bring you the same joy.

If that sounds lovely to you, go ahead and subscribe to my newsletter at the bottom of this page so I can write to you!
